These pants insulate very well, and the fit is just loose enough for you to move around in. I am a size 4/6. Oakley smalls are snug, but the medium is just loose enough to fit a butt pad and thermals. These were warm and did not get wet despite the amount of time I spent sitting in the snow. The gaiters are excellent for keeping snow out of your boots, and there are plenty of pockets to store little things here and there. They do not feel overly bulky, either. Very satisfied with this purchase.
