Kiva Luggage Packing Genius Day Tripper Bag, Persimmon, One Size Review

I was looking for a "dispatch" type bag (not to be confused with a "messenger" bag which is meant to be worn across the back) for occasional use when traveling or around town. Some of the things I looked for was a bag with an end pocket that would fit a decent sized water bottle, enough pockets to stay organized, big enough to carry a change of clothes, and sometimes a laptop, tablet, and various odds and ends (charging cables, etc.)

With reviews hard to find I kinda took a chance on this bag hoping it would work and the quality was decent. I have to say, it surpassed my expectations from an initial lookover.

The end zip out water bottle pocket with a mesh "bellows" is big enough to fit a 32 oz Nalgene bottle while unzipped without fear it's going to topple out and it will zip around most 21 oz and smaller bottles depending on the type of lid. It zips closed around my 21 oz Hydroflask with the flat lid so I'm happy!

On the other end of the bag is the zipper to access the laptop compartment which is nicely padded. One note, when wearing it that end is to the front if you're right handed so no worries about someone unzipping it from behind you.

Plenty of pockets, flat pockets on the outer flap and back (with the option to unzip the back flat pocket for luggage handle passthrough. Under the flap, which is held closed by two buckles (the female end of the buckles is actually metal, not painted plastic!) is another "J" shaped zipper that unzips to reveal several pockets for small electronics, pens, etc> and a key keeper with a small carabiner. There's also a flat pocket with a velcro closure below the zipper. The main compartment is roomy with a full length pocket on one side.

Overall quality is very good, fabric is heavier nylon than I expected and the bottom is double thickness so it should take some abuse. The shoulder strap is wide and has a nice "grippy" pad on it, feels pretty comfortable.The carry handle has a rubber grip, much nicer than just a stitched over web handle. One nice thing is with the Wasabi color anyway the whole inside, including the front pockets, is a nice bright neon green so it's easy to see the contents.

All in all I can highly recommend this bag, it's a steal at way under a hundred bucks!
