This toy ia really cool !! I wish it was around when I was growing up. It definatly is not for a 4 yr old. Not because of a safety issue, just that its really hard for him to hold on to it. It is a big toy. It works on air pressure so he has a hard time siding the pump action more then 4 times. I help him and its no problem. The projectiles do come out kinda fast and do go 20 feet if you pump it up 6-7 times as suggested in the instructions.
It has cool lights, and all the pieces store in the gun.
Its a really solid toy, that I would recommend to a child of 6 yrs old.
