I wanted something simple to haul groceries before I take the plunge and get some really expensive panniers. For the price this bag is quite sufficient. It's simple, no frills but that's good sometimes. It detaches easily to become a shopping tote. The fabric and materials overall appear to be pretty high quality. Waterproof, even though it's open-top (I guess mud/water can splash from below so that's cool).

Main complaint is that I wish there was a little more going on to close the large opening. There is a single clasp that can be pulled tight, but with a semi-heavy load (like my large Kryptonite chain) the bag kind of flops over a little more than I'd like. Basically I wish the clasp were at or near the rim of the bag, not recessed down a few inches.

Frankly, however, this is not a huge deal and I already plan to rectify it with some large plastic clamps like those you find at a hard ware store.
