I've owned pea coats for years and years. This is by far the cutest. When I first opened it (size small) as a Christmas present and tried it on, I could tell it is sized more for Juniors; narrow shoulders and runs smaller than Misses clothing. I usually get away with ordering a size up in Jr., so I returned it for two sizes up to allow a little room for sweaters and scarves - a Large. I was a bit worried it would be too big, but the large fit great with room to wear bulky things underneath, no issues there. The fit is a bit looser at the bottom, but looks good anyway.

The problem I noticed with both size coats are the buttons. They haven't been sewn on very well and the act of buttoning and unbuttoning weakens the threads that it comes with. As I wore the coat exclusively for several weeks, the thread became looser and looser. I inspected the thread and honestly, it's the weakest button job I've seen sewn onto a coat. Eventually, one button popped off when I put the coat on, then I accidentally stepped on the button, denting the cheap metal. Another popped off when it was hanging by a few threads while I gently tried to button it.

Here's my best advice having had buttons pop off coats from getting caught on shopping carts in the past: The coat appears to be well constructed otherwise. If you've never had buttons sewn on by a quality tailor, you're missing out. Take the coat and have the buttons resewn. It's not that expensive to do. Be sure they sew a smaller button on the fabric behind the buttons to prevent tearing the fabric if the button gets caught on something. Then, they'll use a heavy, quality thread and properly sew the buttons. Given the cost of the coat and that this style is unique compared to other designs on the market right now, it's worth it. Plus, if you're like me, you might like the idea of choosing fancier buttons to enhance this beautiful coat. I've included a pic.
